PoliVisu helps Belgian police improve traffic safety

On 2 July members of the PoliVisu consortium (AIV, ISP) joined data scientists from the local police force in Belgium for a workshop aimed at improving traffic safety. Together they identified the main challenges related to speeding and then defined the requirements for a set of visualisations that can help address the safety problem. The event organisers integrated elements of design thinking to elicit ideas from participants. Specifically, the latter used post-its, maps, graphs and other visual aids to create mocks-ups for two dashboards that will be used in the design of the next version of the M3 software.
